Alert MetalGuard™

A simple solution to a major problem

Our flagship product, Alert MetalGuard, is a special security system specifically designed to detect booster bags, tinfoil-lined jackets, metallic underware, and similar shoplifting devices. The system is available in several versions, which suppliment existing systems from virtually all other manufacturers to create a total shoplifting concept. Special multi-use MetalGuard systems are also available for retailers who have purchased conventional EAS systems from several different sources.
 
All our systems feature visible detector posts since studies show that the presence of our detectors has a significant preventative effect. In fact, many of our customers report that attempted shoplifting with booster bags has been eliminated since the installation of MetalGuard.

A typical MetalGuard system includes the following components: 

Silent warnings don't tip off criminals

The key difference between our system and other security systems is that we warn store personnel when a potential shoplifter enters, not just when a shoplifter leaves. Our wireless pager represents a major breakthrough in shop security, alerting security guards as soon as a booster bag is detected.

Thus warned, personnel can follow the shoplifter and prepare to take appropriate action. Although audible bell alarms can also be fitted, most retailers chose to install a special warning beacon – a blinking light next to the check-out counter or in some other discreet location.

Moreover, since a shoplifter never knows when the system is triggered, he cannot test the sensitivity of the system with "legal" metallic objects. As always, the less warning a shoplifter receives, the better the chances they can be “caught in the act.” And since most booster-bag users are professionals, it is very much in the interest of the retailer to make sure these people are arrested.

All Alert MetalGuard products are CE-approved for use within the European Community.

State-of-the-art electronics

The main control box for the Alert MetalGuard system is available in two versions: Universal and Super Standard. Our Universal unit is compatible with all UM and RF systems. Our Super Standard is optimized for use with RF systems only.

Each box can control up to three detectors.

New high-detection antennas in plexiglas

Although an Alert Metalguard installation provides an effective visual deterrent, some of our customers have asked for an "invisible" system. Our new high-detection antennas in clear plexiglas are the first step towards complete invisibility.

At the moment, two versions are available - a 10 cm antenna for gates up to 175 cm, and an 18 cm antenna for gates up to 210 cm. An ultra-slim plexiglas antenna for 140 cm gates will be available later this year.
